Escalona’s practice moves between constructed and documentary forms, examining the ways people, places, and identities are performed and recorded through images. Working with portraiture, fashion, staged photography, and video, she is interested in the space between reality and fiction, often using cinematic lighting, gesture, and narrative to transform everyday subjects into psychological and theatrical scenes.

Alongside her artistic practice, Escalona works as a producer, editor, and writer in television and independent media. Her photographic and moving-image work reflects this intersection between documentary observation and constructed narrative.
